Create Your Own World Cup Themed Toss & Talk Ball
Get the conversation flowing as we celebrate the World Cup!
This simple craft involves creating your very own Toss & Talk Ball featuring different discussion prompts about all things soccer. The ball can be used before matches as a fun throwing/catching exercise and for discussion time to get participants engaged and ready to cheer on their favourite team!
STEP 1
Start by inflating your ball until it is nice and firm. Assistance may be required for this step.
STEP 2
Look at reference images of soccer balls to get an idea of the black and white pattern. Sketch the pattern onto your inflated ball using a lead pencil. The pattern doesn’t need to be perfect - the shapes just make for a good size area for you to write your prompts.
STEP 3
Once you are happy with your soccer ball pattern, use a black permanent marker to trace over your lines and fill in the black areas. Be careful when handling the ball so you don’t smudge it before it has dried.
STEP 4
Use the coloured permanent markers to write your prompts or questions in the remaining blank spaces of the pattern. These can be anything you like and could be trivia based or memory provoking. Examples include “Who won the World Cup last year?” or “Have you ever been to a live soccer game?” Allow the ball to dry fully (for around 24 hours) before using.
STEP 5
Your World Cup Themed Toss & Talk Ball is now ready to use!
