STEP 1

Download the Dice Roll Footy Game templates provided. We have provided a template for Rugby League and one for Aussie Rules. Print out as many templates as required for your participants and which game they’d like to play. We recommend printing onto cover paper.

STEP 2

Have each participant decorate their game sheet by choosing their team colours and writing down their team’s name.

STEP 3

Pair the participants up and get them to each roll a die - highest number goes first! Write your team name and the team you are versing on the VS lines. Follow the rules outlined below for which Footy Game you have chosen to play.

STEP 4

Rugby League – Players will get four rolls of the die in total, this being two rolls for each half of footy. A Try is worth 4 points, and a Conversion is worth 2 points. Player 1 will roll the die twice, recording the first number in the Try section and the second number in the Conversion section for the First Half. Player 2 will then roll the die and do the same. Both players then add up their current score for the first half (For example, if you rolled a 4 for Try and a 6 for Conversion, this would be (4 x 4) + (6 x 2) = 28). Repeat play for the second half before adding up the final scores and finding your winner!

STEP 5

Aussie Rules – Players will get eight rolls of the die in total, this being two rolls for each quarter of footy. A Goal is worth 6 points, and a Behind is worth 1 point. Player 1 will roll the die twice, recording the first number in the Goal section and the second number in the Behind section in the Q1 box. Player 2 will then roll the die and do the same. Both players then add up their current score for the quarter (For example, if you rolled a 3 for Goal and a 2 for Behind, this would be (3 x 6) + (2 x 1) = 20). Repeat play for the remaining three quarters before adding up the final scores and finding your winner!
