Games Medal Tally

Games Medal Tally

Cheer on your country at the 2026 Games in Glasgow with this free printable Medal Tally to track every Gold, Silver and Bronze your country wins. Simply colour a circle each time your country takes the podium – it's a fun, easy activity that is perfect for aged care residents to enjoy individually or as a group.

Activity coordinators will love how little prep is involved. Print one template per resident or enlarge to A3 for a shared common room display. You could even create one poster for each country to track everyone’s progress!

It's a great way to keep residents connected to current events, spark conversations about favourite sporting memories, and bring a little Games day excitement into your facility.

Coordinator Tips:

  • Use as a daily check-in activity throughout the Games (26 July – 7 August 2026).
  • Play TV coverage in the background to keep the excitement up.
  • Use as a conversation starter: "Did you watch the Commonwealth Games when you were younger? Which sport was your favourite?"
  • Award a small prize to the resident whose country finishes with the most medals.

STEP 1

Print out one template per resident or enlarge to A3 for a shared group tally board. We recommend printing onto cover paper as it provides a sturdier surface when colouring in the medals.

STEP 2

Encourage each resident to pick a country that has a personal meaning such as their birthplace, family heritage, or a country they love. Get them to write their chosen country at the top of the template.

STEP 3

Each time the country wins a Gold medal, colour in or cross off one circle in the Gold column. Do the same for Silver and Bronze medals. Use the bottom chart to track medals per sport.

STEP 4

At the end of the Games, count the coloured circles and write the total number of medals the country has won at the bottom. Compare your country's score with each other — who picked the winning nation?
